Leeds are on the verge of completing a deal for defender Lewis Coyle with the youngster set to join Fleetwood on loan, according to West Yorkshire Sport.

The news station, which is a part of BBC Radio Leeds has reported on it’s personal Twitter account on Tuesday Morning that the BBC understands the 21-year-old is heading to the Fishermen.

The right-back, who made his debut for Leeds back in December 2015 has struggled to breakthrough to the first team since given the form of last summer signing Luke Ayling in the position.

He could now be set for his second loan spell of his career after spending time with Harrogate in 2014 in a bid to gain more senior experience.

In the last campaign under former manager Garry Monk, Coyle managed to play just 10 matches in all competitions with four of those appearances coming in the Championship.

He still has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road and if it is announced that he has joined Fleetwood, who finished in fourth place in England’s third tier last season then he will be looking to take the opportunity to showcase his talents and potentially give Ayling some competition for the right-back position in the future.
