Lascelles and Clark were the preferred centre-back combination last season for Newcastle, so it would be no surprise if they managed to keep their places alongside together.
They managed to strike up a good partnership as the Magpies won the Championship title and could look to continue that momentum into the Premier League.
Lascelles has just 18 Premier League games under his belt, while Clark played 134 times in the top flight during his time with Aston Villa.
However, the inexperience is surely unlikely to count against Lascelles due to the trust Benitez showed in him by appointing him captain.
