Rafa Benitez must make an eleventh-hour bid to lure Tom Ince to Newcastle ahead of newly-promoted side Huddersfield.

Bleacher report transfer expert Dean Jones revealed on his personal Twitter account on Monday that the Terriers are close to confirming a move that will see the 25-year-old join the Terriers ahead of the 2017-18 season.

The BBC claim that Huddersfield had a bid of £7million rejected for the Derby County attacker but are willing to spend closer to Ince’s valuation of £10million, as they look to add the fire power to keep them in the Premier League.

Ince was in emphatic form for Gary Rowett’s side last season and his displays have caught the eye of Huddersfield boss David Wagner, who has already completed four new signings this summer.

This Is Futbol believes Newcastle would escape relegation and cement their place in England’s top flight as a mid-table side if they beat Huddersfield to Ince’s signature foe three separate reasons.
