Everton would be wasting their money on Arsenal ace Olivier Giroud after a report claimed they were keen to sign the Frenchman, and should weigh up moves for three other Gunners stars instead.

The Sun claims Ronald Koeman’s side have joined the race to sign the 30-year-old former Montpellier star, in a bid to beat Marseille and West Ham to the signature of the France international in a deal worth £20million.

It is believed Giroud has been identified by Koeman as the perfect candidate to replace Romelu Lukaku, who could be on his way out of Goodison Park this summer after scoring 26 goals last season.

Arsenal boast a huge number of fringe stars in north London with plenty of action likely to take place in terms of ins and outs, following Arsene Wenger’s decision to stay on as manager of the club.

This Is Futbol has identified three players that Everton would be better off in luring to Merseyside from Arsenal instead of Giroud, who at £20million is an expensive risk given his veteran status.
