Three reasons why Leeds should sign Jagielka

Promotion would be within Leeds’ grasp next season if they could tempt veteran Everton defender Phil Jagielka to drop down a division and move to Elland Road.

Jagielka, 34, could find his position at Goodison Park under threat after Ronald Koeman opted to sign former Burnley defender Michael Keane, with Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori still in the squad.

The former Sheffield United defender still managed to make 27 appearances in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit last season, and even found the back of the net three times against Man United, Leicester and Burnley.

Leeds have already completed four new signings this summer but manager Thomas Christiansen is expected to add to his defence soon, with Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Matuesz Klich and Hadi Sacko all joining.

Now, This Is Futbol believes Christiansen could secure a fifth deal in former England international Jagielka this summer in order to bolster the experience in his squad ahead of a promotion push.
