Thomas Christiansen could find Leeds’ missing link by scouting the Yorkshire giants’ former players that currently reside in Major League Soccer.

The Spanish manager has already made two signings since taking over the managerial hotseat at Elland Road last month, taking Leeds’ total summer signings to three under new owner Andrea Radrizzani.

Speed machine Hadi Sacko has signed permanently from Sporting Lisbon, while former APOEL Nicosia manager Christiansen has completed deals for playmaker Matuesz Klich and highly-rated goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.

Spending is expected to continue under Christiansen as the summer transfer window gathers momentum, as Leeds look to sign the players that have the quality and necessary traits required to gain promotion to the Premier League.

This Is FutbolĀ considers three former Leeds stars that play in the MLS who could rejoin the Whites in order to push Christiansen’s side towards a first return to the top flight of English football since 2004.
