Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has packed his bags to head to England and sign for Arsenal, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claim that the France international will travel to London to put the finishing touches to a club-record Gunners transfer totally a potential £52million.

The Telegraph report that Lacazette, 26, will undergo medical tests with Arsenal after the terms of a deal were agreed that are made up of an initial £46million plus £6million of add-ons.

It is said that Arsene Wenger’s side have secured an agreement after bids of £39million and £44million were rejected by Lyon.

The signing of the striker would be hugely popular among Arsenal supporters, who have been vocal in their desire for manager Arsene Wenger to recruit a potent striker capable of tearing defences to shreds in both domestic and European competition.

The Frenchman scored 37 goals in 45 matches for Lyon last season and has struck 129 times in 275 appearances for the club after graduating from their youth ranks.
He has also netted once in 11 France internationals but it has not escaped the attention of some observers that he is behind Olivier Giroud in the pecking order for the national team and is his deputy for the targetman role.
Ironically, the arrival of Lacazette could persuade Wenger to cash in on Giroud, 30, amid strong interest from West Ham.
The Telegraph report that Slaven Bilic’s side are willing to pay £20million to sign Giroud and strengthen their own forward ranks.
