Pedro Caixinha has already completed eight new signings at Rangers this summer and should continue his summer revolution with Stoke City’s forgotten man Stephen Ireland.

The 30-year-old playmaker missed the entire 2016-17 season in Staffordshire after breaking his leg in a Stoke training session back in May 2016, failing to make a single appearance in red and white stripes.

Former Man City and Aston Villa star Ireland will be in need of regular first-team football as he steps up his recovery as he looks to fully overcome the horrific injury that has seen him remain frustrated on the sidelines.

Caixinha would make one of his best summer signings in Ireland, after completing deals to bring Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos to Ibrox.

This Is FutbolĀ believes the 39-point gap separating Rangers and Celtic last season would be significantly reduced if Caixinha can strike a deal to bring the six-time Ireland international to Auchenhowie.
