Thomas Christiansen would take a giant leap towards ending Leeds’ 13-year stay in the Football League by signing Rangers attacker Barrie McKay.

The Scottish Sun claim that the 22-year-old winger is interesting former manager Mark Warburton at Nottingham Forest as well as Championship rivals Cardiff City, after the summer transfer window opened on Saturday.

It is believed Nottingham Forest have even made an offer for the Gers’ academy product but fell short of the 54-time Scottish champions’ valuation in their bid to reunite McKay and Warburton.

McKay’s future at Rangers has plunged even further into doubt after being left out of the Rangers side to play in the Europa League, with only 12 months remaining on the attacker’s contract.

Now, This Is Futbol believes Leeds would severely strengthen their chances of gaining promotion back to the Premier League if they can add the Scotland international to their ranks ahead of Cardiff and Forest.
