Rangers are ready to lodge a fourth bid for Hearts winger Jamie Walker, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Scottish giants will return to the negotiating with fourth offer in an attempt to prise the 24-year-old from Tynecastle this summer.

The Scottish Sun report that Hearts are holding out for their £1million asking price to be met for Walker and they accept he will leave when his contract expires in 12 months if a transfer cannot be agreed.

It is said that Rangers are convinced that Waker wants to make the move to Ibrox and join the transfer revolution which has already included nine senior signings during the current window.

Hearts manager Ian Cathro has attempted to drawn a line under the saga after three failed Rangers bids but his counterpart Pedro Caixinha watched Walker in action in their Friday night 2-1 friendly defeat to Newcastle, in which he scored his team’s only goal.

The former Scotland Under-21 international had an impressive 2016-17 season for Hearts, scoring 15 goals and supplying seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.

Rangers are now eyeing a 10th summer signing to beef up their attacking options, which have been reinforced by the arrivals of Daniel Candeias and Dalcio, while Barrie McKay has recently been sold to Nottingham Forest.

The lack of a cutting edge in Caixinha’s side was cruelly exposed during the humiliating Europa League exit at the hands of Progres Niederkorn.
