Rangers new boy Ryan Jack believes Niko Kranjcar can help him take his game to the next level.

The 25-year-old central midfielder was Gers manager Pedro Caixinha’s second signing of the summer, and he made his debut for the club in the 1-0 Europa League qualifying win over Progres Niedercorn last week.

Jack played the full 90 minutes at Ibrox alongside Kranjcar, and Caixinha will hope the pair can become a formidable duo in the middle of the park this term.

In an interview with the Daily Record, Jack was quick to praise the former Tottenham star.

“It has been excellent playing alongside Niko even in training. You can clearly see the talent he has and he can see passes most other players can’t,” he said.

“I have enjoyed playing alongside him and hopefully he can help my career. He has had great experiences so far and any advice he wants to pass on, then I would be willing to listen as he is a man I have great respect for.”

Bruno Alves was Rangers’ first signing of the summer, but Jack put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal shortly after, and they has since been joined by six new faces.

Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Eduardo Herrera, Carlos Pena and Alfredo Morelos were the men to join Jack and Alves at Ibrox, as Caixinha looked to overhaul his squad completely.

However, it is Kranjcar who has caught Jack’s eye, a player who struggled to make an impact in Glasgow last term as his campaign was ravaged by injury.

The Croatian midfielder only played 15 league and cup games for the Gers last season, although he did score three goals and provide three assists.

In contrast, Jack was a mainstay in Aberdeen’s engine room in 2016-17, making 39 appearances across all competitions.
