Brendan Rodgers would significantly strengthen Celtic’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League by signing Paris Saint-Germain ace Jean-Kevin Augustin.
German newspaper Bild claim ambitious Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are eyeing a move for the 20-year-old forward, who broke into the French giants’ first team during the 2015-16 campaign.
However, Rodgers should look to rival Leipzig this summer for the striker in order to replicate the kind of signing that saw the Hoops bring Moussa Dembele to Celtic Park last summer.
Dembele was signed for a nominal compensation figure before scoring 32 goals north of the border, and with Augustin almost the identical type of player, Rodgers must blow Leipzig out of the water to sign him.
