Despite coming in for plenty of criticism towards the end of the season, 34-year-old stopper Gordon is expected to remain the Hoops’ number one unless Rodgers decides to bolster his options between the sticks.
The former Sunderland ace kept a huge 28 clean sheets in his 55 league and cup encounters last season and remains head and shoulders above Celtic’s other options in Dorus de Vries and Logan Bailly.
Scotland international Gordon’s commanding aura between the sticks is crucial in helping Celtic’s younger players, such as Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and Moussa Dembele, all thrive in green and white.
