Watford have entered the race to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart during the summer transfer window, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that new boss Marco Silva has made an enquiry to the Manchester club about the availability of the 30-year-old goalkeeper.

The Hornets have already brought in one goalkeeper this summer as they completed the signing of former Stoke City man Daniel Bachmann.

The report claims that Hart will be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer for the right price.

This follows up from the story in the Daily Mail which reported that Newcastle United are set to battle it out with fellow Premier League side West Ham United for the signature of the England international.

City manager Pep Guardiola did not appear to be a huge admirer of Hart last season as the goalkeeper only featured in the second leg of the Champions League qualification round against FCS Bucharest in August.

The Englishman was sent out on loan to Serie A side Torino where he made a total of 37 appearances and kept five clean sheets.

Hart has enjoyed a successful career with the Manchester club so far, picking up two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup trophy.

The goalkeeper’s current contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in the summer of 2019.
