Arsene Wenger is reportedly eyeing a shock move for Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green and Thomas Christiansen may find himself powerless to prevent the veteran from moving to north London.

Transfer expert Alan Nixon claimed in his column in the Sun’s paper edition (Sunday, page 63), that the Gunners are eyeing a move for Green as back-up to Petr Cech with interest aplenty in Arsenal’s other stoppers.

The report states that there is interest in trio David Ospina, Wojciech Szczesny and Emi Martinez, and that has seen 37-year-old Green become a target for Wenger’s side ahead of the summer transfer window.

Green was in superb form for the Yorkshire giants last season after joining from Leeds’ Championship rivals QPR in July 2016, keeping 15 clean sheets in 47 league and cup encounters.

With 12 months remaining on his contract, Arsenal will have to stump up a transfer fee to sign the former England international as they consider making a lucrative offer for the former West Ham ace.

This Is Futbol has drawn up a shortlist of three Championship goalkeepers that Thomas Christiansen must consider if Green does indeed jump ship this summer, as the Spanish manager looks to gain promotion come May 2018.
