West Ham have secured the loan signing of England goalkeeper Joe Hart from Manchester City, according to a reliable journalist.

Sam Inkersole, who is the Hammers writer for Football.London, reported on his personal Twitter account on Sunday morning that the 30-year-old’s loan move to the London Stadium “is signed”, but there are a few factors that are causing the confirmation to be delayed.

It is understood that Hart is set to secure a season-long loan switch to West Ham with a view to a permanent transfer, and an agreement with that in mind has caused the announcement to have not been made yet.

Sky Sports reported on their live transfer blog on Saturday [09:01am] that the Irons were set to announce Hart as their second signing of the summer on that same day after he completed a medical with the east Londoners on Friday.

Pablo Zabaleta has been Slaven Bilic’s only summer recruit so far, meaning that Hart is close to follow him to ease the tension surrounding what has no doubt been a frustrating couple of months for the Irons support.

The England international goalkeeper has struggled to convince Man City manager Pep Guardiola that he is worthy of a spot in his first-team plans ever since the Spaniard moved to the Etihad last summer.

He brought in Claudio Bravo to play between the sticks while Hart was shipped out on loan to Serie A outfit Torino after a very poor showing for England at Euro 2016.
