Anita gone, Yedlin to be absent
With Anita’s loss, Newcastle’s senior side boasts just one recognised right-back in USA international DeAndre Yedlin.
The Evening Chronicle claim that Yedlin could be unavailable for selection at the start of the season, due to his participation in the upcoming Gold Cup with his national side.
If Bruce Arena’s side reach the final of the tournament, speed machine Yedlin will not return to Tyneside until after July 26. Yedlin will require time to recover and rest, meaning he will miss pre-season.
Without Yedlin or Anita to begin their 2017-18 campaign, a right-back is required and Debuchy is the sensible option for Benitez.
