Graham Roberts is convinced that Tottenham will soon kick into transfer action as they prepare to sell Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

The former Spurs defender took to Twitter on Thursday to share the club’s like plans for the remainder of the window after widespread reports that Walker has agreed a £50million transfer to Etihad Stadium.

Roberts claimed on his personal Twitter account that “we all knew Walker was going” and delivered an upbeat response by telling supporters that a new full-back is certain to arrive along with other new signings.

Roberts’ update will provide encouragement to the Spurs faithful, some of who are concerned that a first-team mainstay is heading to a title rival and that their club is the only one in the Premier League not to make any signings this summer.

The Mail reported on Thursday night that England right-back Walker is set to wrap up a £50million transfer to Etihad Stadium in the next 48 hours.

The deal would equal the world-record price for a defender, set when David Luiz joined Paris Saint-Germain from Chelsea in 2014.

It is said the Argentine wants Spurs to respond to the loss of a first-team mainstay by displaying greater assertiveness in the transfer market, with Everton playmaker Ross Barkley and Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira named as key targets.

The reportedly imminent arrival of Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth could soothe Pochettino’s angst  even though he is a teenager and might be regarded as a player for the future rather than the upcoming season.
