Rangers are interested in signing Manchester United youngster Matthew Willock, according to ESPN FC.

The 20-year-old midfielder was not involved in the United first-team squad that flew out to the upcoming pre-season tour in the US which has cast a shadow over his long-term future at the club.

Willock is not the only Manchester United youngster to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer as the Daily Mail recently reported that defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is attracting interest from Championship side Leeds United.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has not wasted any time in bringing in new players as the SPL side have already added nine additions to the squad this summer.

The Glaswegian club have gone with a mix of youth and experience and Willock could offer them with more energy in the midfield.

The youngster has spent six years with the Manchester club but he has failed to make a single appearance in the first-team.

The midfielder managed to find himself on the substitutes bench on two occasions last season during the Premier League home matches against West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

Willock was a regular for the Under-23 team last season and he contributed with five goals and three assists in all competitions.
