Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has urged his agent to organise a move to Real Madrid, according to a report in Don Balon.

The Spanish media outlet has revealed that the 26-year-old refuses to let the opportunity to move to the La Liga club pass.

Don Balon report that United’s number one urged his agent, Jorge Mendes, to contact the Bernabeu outfit to ensure he doesn’t miss out on a transfer to the Spanish club this summer.

It is said that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has still got his eye on De Gea and will move closer to recruiting him but only after he has sold the club’s goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Current stopper Navas, 30, is set to move to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain, which will then create space for the potential arrival of the United keeper.

De Gea moved to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid in 2011 in a deal worth nearly £22 million and his contract expires in 2019.

Throughout his time at Old Trafford the keeper has made a total of 269 appearances throughout all competitions, and has won the FA Cup, Premier League title, League Cup, and the Europa League as a United keeper.

During the last season Jose Mourinho’s squad won two trophies, but failed to contend for the Premier League title which led to the team finishing in sixth place.

Throughout the top flight race de Gea managed 14 clean sheets throughout his 45 appearances in the competition.
