Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester City teenager Tosin Adarabioyo during the summer transfer window, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that the Manchester club are willing to let the 19-year-old leave this summer on a loan deal to a Premier League side or a top-half Championship team.

The report claims that City want the highly-rated defender to gain some much needed first-team experience next season and the Magpies are one of the teams keen in landing him this summer.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will be looking to get this deal over the line as the Daily Mail recently reported that he was growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of summer signings.

The youngster could potentially miss City’s pre-season tour to the United States if the club can complete a deal by the start of the following week.

It is said that Championship sides Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End are also interested in securing a deal for the defender.

The teenager reportedly earns £40,000-a-week at City after manager Pep Guardiola convinced him to put pen to paper on a new contract last month and further develop his career at the Manchester club.

Adarabioyo has spent his entire footballing career at the Etihad Stadium but he has not managed to make a single appearance in the Premier League for the club.

However, the defender did make his Champions League debut last season as he played the full 90 minutes in City’s home draw against SPL champions Celtic in December.

The teenager’s contract at the Etihad Stadium runs out in 2021.
