Celtic have signed attacking midfielder Olivier Ntcham from Manchester City on a four-year deal, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Hoops confirmed the transfer of the 21-year-old via both their official Twitter account as well as on the club’s official website:

The youngster joins having failed to make a senior appearance for the Premier League side, although he did earn first team experience during a two-year loan spell at Italian club Genoa.

During his two seasons at the club, he made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and two assists from his position in the middle of the park.

Also able to operate in an advanced central role, last season saw him jump between the starting XI and the substitutes bench, turning out 23 times in the league and cups as he failed to nail down a place in the first team.

His arrival signals the third name through the door at Celtic Park, following Jonny Hayes’ arrival from Aberdeen and Kundai Benyu from Ipswich.

He will be linking up with fellow French Under-21 team mate Moussa Dembele, and fans will be hoping that he can have the same effect at the club after the young striker hit 32 goals in his debut season.

Ntcham is highly rated by those who have worked with him, with his former coach at Genoa stating that his hard work ethic and natural talent will only see him rise in the world of football.
