Hull City midfielder David Meyler has claimed on Twitter that he is joining Liverpool.
The Republic of Ireland international sent the rumour mill into overdrive after replying to his teammate Kamil Grosicki on the social media site on Sunday night.
Meyler bid farewell on Twitter to Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, who has agreed to join Leicester, with the message ‘Good luck Brate’, presumably in reference to a nickname for the 32-year-old.

Grosicki joined in the conversation by asking ‘who is next’ as the club’s firesale continues following relegation from the Premier League, to which Meyler replied that he was heading to Anfield.
Im going to @LFC

It is possible that Meyler’s message is tongue-in-cheek although he did not accompany it with any emojis that suggested that was indisputably the case.
Hull have already sold Tom Huddlestone to Championship rivals Derby, while it has been widely reported that left-back Andrew Robertson is in advanced talks to join Liverpool.
Meyler, 24, has been a mainstay of the Hull team since joining from Sunderland in January 2013 on what was an initial loan deal.
The midfielder has gone on to rack up 164 appearances for the Humberside club, which have yielded 14 goals from his central midfielder slot.
His pedigree is evident from the fact that he has played 103 Premier League games.
