Getafe in talks with Everton over Robles

|

La Liga side Getafe are currently holding discussions with Everton over a potential deal to sign goalkeeper Joel Robles this summer, according to Marca.

The Spanish newspaper claims that Getafe are expecting shot-stopper Alberto Garcia to join second-tier side Real Zaragoza on a loan deal this summer and they are planning to snap up the 27-year-old Everton man as his replacement.

The report claims that Robles will be one step closer to returning to his native Spain once Garcia finalises a deal to leave the La Liga outfit.

It is said that Getafe believe that the Spaniard is the perfect candidate to compete with the club’s number one choice Vicente Guaita, who missed the majority of last season due to a wrist injury.

Marca reports that Robles has already informed his closest friends that he wants to leave Goodison Park this summer and join forces with Getafe next season.

The Spaniard is surely not guaranteed regular first-team action at the Merseyside club next season as Everton recently signed goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for a club record transfer of £30million.

The goalkeeper enjoyed a decent campaign last season, featuring in 22 matches in all competitions and keeping a total of 10 clean sheets in the process.

Robles’ current contract at Goodison Park runs out at the end of next season.
