Everton one of three clubs in the race to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claims that Marseille and Southampton are also keen on the French forward, who spent last season on loan with Crystal Palace.

It is understood that Chelsea have taken the decision to sell Remy, 30, this summer, despite it being said that the 31-times France international is intent on staying at Stamford Bridge to try and contend for the Premier League title.

Sky Sports adds that the former QPR forward has travelled with the English champions for their pre-season tour of China, but will look to flog him if they manage to find a new striking option.

Remy has struggled to earn first-team football at Chelsea ever since he arrived at Stamford Bridge from QPR in 2014.

He has made just 47 appearances across all competitions in that space of time for the Blues, scoring 12 goals in the process despite most of his game time coming off the bench.

Last season saw Remy move to Crystal Palace in the hope that he would earn a good deal of Premier League football.

However he suffered a spate of muscle injuries at the start of the campaign and only managed to make his Eagles debut in January as he finished the season with eight appearances and no goals.
