Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko will undergo Chelsea medicals in the coming days, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claim that the Premier League champions plan to announce the signings of the big-name pair after agreeing fees that reports elsewhere claim will total around £65million.

The Telegraph report that German Rudiger will join from Roma once he completes the formalities of a medical in the days ahead and he will be followed through the Chelsea entrance door by Frenchman Bakayoko.

It is said, contrary to reports elsewhere, that Bakayoko has not yet undergone medical tests as they had to be postponed.

The finalisation of the signings of the big-name pair, who will arrive at Stamford Bridge following excellent seasons for their clubs in 2016-17, could go some way to placating manager Antonio Conte, who is said to be furious that the club were beaten to the signing of Romelu Lukaku by Manchester United.

France international Bakayoko had an outstanding campaign with Monaco last season as he helped them clinch the league title for the first time in seventeen years.

Although he missed the start of last season with a cruciate ligament knee injury, Rudiger had an impressive campaign with Roma, who challenged strongly for the Serie A title before finishing just four points adrift of winners Juventus.

The defender was also part of the Germany national team who lifted the Confederations Cup in Russia this summer.

The German will become Chelsea’s second signing of the summer transfer window after they snapped up former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
