Under-18s talent emerges

Finally, during the club’s pre-season tour Under 18 winger Reiss Nelson made a mightily impressive first-team bow for the senior team.

The 17-year-old didn’t appear at all overwhelmed sharing a pitch with Theo Walcott or Mesut Ozil, and instead shone throughout the game which saw him awarded Arsenal’s Man of the Match on Twitter.

His confidence and pace on the pitch showcased his potential to Arsene Wenger which could mean a potential step up to the first team at some point during the upcoming season.

The teenager created a number of chances from the right wing throughout the Gunners’ 2-0 victory over Sydney FC and his determination to grow through the ranks showed similarities to former Arsenal youngsters like Jack Wilshere and Alex Iwobi.

His impressive debut will mean that the England Under 18 international will definitely be on Wenger’s radar over the 2017/18 season. He looks the real deal.
