Arsenal are interested in signing Celtic talisman Moussa Dembele this summer, according to the Express.

The newspaper claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is considering making a move for the 21-year-old should key man Alexis Sanchez decide to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The report claims that although Wenger is not keen on losing the Chilean, he understands that he might need to cash in with big European clubs ready to spend around £50million to secure his signature.

It is said that Wenger believes Dembele is the perfect candidate to replace Sanchez’s goals next season following his brilliant debut campaign at Celtic Park.

The striker was one of the best performers in the Scottish top flight last season, notching 32 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

The Frenchman was an instant favourite with the Celtic faithful especially after scoring five goals in the five Old Firm derbies against Rangers in all competitions.

Celtic weew reportedly seeking to receive around £30million for the Frenchman this summer but they are now set to demand more money with transfer fees constantly rising.

Dembele could potentially be the second Frenchman to join the Emirates Stadium during the transfer window after the Gunners landed former Ligue 1 marksman Alexandre Lacazette.

The youngster’s current contract at Celtic runs out in 2020.
