West Ham have been installed huge odds-on favourites to sign Jack Wilshere this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the Hammers at 8/13 on Tuesday morning to land the Arsenal midfielder before the transfer window shuts at the start of September.
West Ham are a long way ahead of any other clubs in the betting, with Premier League new boys Huddersfield at 12/1, and Newcastle United and Bournemouth at 14/1.
The odds have been slashed on Wilshere, 25, moving from north to east London after Sky Bet had West Ham at 5/1 in the middle of last month to secure the signature of the Gunners academy product this summer.
Wilshere’s Arsenal career is at a crossroads due to a series of serious injuries that have resulted in him dropping down the club’s midfield pecking order.
He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and was a regular for most of the campaign before he suffered a broken leg in April in yet another major setback to a career that once promised so much.
Wilshere is out of contract at Arsenal next summer and there has been few signs of him securing an extension as it appears that the club he joined as an eight-year-old are willing to sever their ties.
