Aston Villa must go head to head with bitter rivals Birmingham to sign Lazio ace Ravel Morrison as the playmaker travels back to the Midlands to train with Harry Redknapp’s side.
The Daily Mail claim the 24-year-old is training with the Blues ahead of a potential transfer to the Championship side, with Redknapp quoted as saying that he is observing the former England Under-21 international.
“Ravel’s come in and he’s going to be training with us for a few days so we can have a look at him. That’s it really,” Redknapp said.
It is said that Lazio are willing to offload the former West Ham and Manchester United attacker, after making just eight senior appearances with the Serie A giants since joining them in the summer of 2015.
Morrison has worked with Redknapp at QPR in the past, and is renowned for his controversial off-field antics as well as his raw talent that saw him develop a reputation as one of England’s best up-and-coming talents.
