Swansea have begun talks with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven over defender Santiago Arias, according to the Daily Star.

The news publication has detailed that the 25-year-old has set his sights on a move to the Premier League this summer with Tottenham, West Ham and Everton all said to be interested.

However, it is stated that the Swans believe that they are the current front-runners in the race for the right-back and that the Welsh club have even held talks with PSV over Arias, who is also said to be keen on the move.

It is understood that January appointment Paul Clement is on the hunt for a new right-back this summer with Angel Rangel suffering with injuries in the last campaign, while former Tottenham man Kyle Naughton has also struggled to win over the former Derby boss.

Now, Spurs themselves could also be on the lookout for a new right-back in the upcoming window with Kyle Walker’s future at the club being thrown into major doubt.

Mauricio Pochettino does still have Kieran Trippier in his squad, but Arias, who has been capped 31 times for the Colombia senior squad could be being viewed as another alternative as the Argentine manager looks to build a team ready to make another claim for the Premier League title.
