Everton have received a boost in their hopes of signing Josh Bowler after he rejected QPR’s offer of a contract extension, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster reports on their website that Bowler, 18, is “increasingly likely” to sign for the Toffees despite his club’s attempts to hold onto him.

It is said QPR have even promised the young right-winger more opportunities in the first-team if he does sign an extension.

This comes after a West London Sport report claimed QPR would allow the teenager to leave if he failed to sign a new deal.

Meanwhile, Get West London previously stated Everton have made two bids for Bowler, but their most recent offer of £3million was turned down by Rangers.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman is said to be keen on the youngster as he looks to bring some young talent to Merseyside.

Bowler joined QPR in 2013 upon being released by Fulham, and he signed a first professional deal with the club in February of this year.

He only has one senior appearance to his name, as he came on as a late substitute in his side’s 4-0 defeat to Norwich on the final day of the Championship season.

Koeman is known for trusting his young players, and the 2016/17 campaign saw Ademola Lookman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mason Holgate make their debuts for the club.
