Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Queens Park Rangers duo Jake Bidwell and Massimo Luongo this summer, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that new owner Evangelos Marinakis is determined to freshen up the squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The report also claims that Forest face competition in signing Bidwell as local rivals Derby County are also interested in landing the 24-year-old full-back.

Forest did not live up to expectations last season as they needed to beat Ipswich Town on the final day of the Championship campaign to avoid relegation.

Manager Mark Warburton is set for his first full season at the City Ground and more players are likely to come in as Forest look improve on the failings from the previous campaign.

Bidwell was a first-team regular for QPR last season as he made a total of 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

Luongo also enjoyed a regular place in the starting line-up for the London side as he made the exact same amount of appearances and contributed with the same amount of goals as his teammate last season.

The 24-year-old midfielder produced an assist in QPR’s 2-0 league victory against Forest at Loftus Road in the penultimate game of the Championship season.

Bidwell’s current contract with the Championship side expires in 2019 whilst Luongo’s deal at Loftus Road runs out in 2020.
