Leeds United have a definite interest in signing midfielder Mateusz Klich but must be braced for extensive negotiating with his club FC Twente, according to a reliable journalist.

Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay has taken to Twitter to post some updates after Leeds were strongly linked in the European media with a number of new signings.

Dutch publications De Telegraaf and Tubantia both reported on Tuesday that the Championship club are pushing hard to land Polish central midfielder Klich before the summer transfer window shuts and that talks are at an advanced stage.

On Wednesday, Swiss publication Corriere del Ticino claimed Leeds are close to finalising the signing of winger Ezgjan Alioski following a brilliant campaign for Swiss top-tier club Lugano and Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo report that the Yorshire giants are trying to hijack Eibar’s £3million bid to sign Spanish playmaker Saido Saiz.

Hay reported on his personal Twitter account that Leeds’ interest is strongest in Klich but Twente, who finished seventh in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, will “take some persuading” to part with the midfield creator.

The journalist also confirmed there is lots of “interest” in Alioski after his 16 goals from a right-wing position for Lugano last season, while Saiz is also being monitored by a number of clubs.

De Telegraaf are renowned as Holland’s most reliable source of transfer news and their report suggests that Leeds “beckons” for Klich as the club work intently on presenting new manager Thomas Christiansen with new signings before the start of the 2017-18 season.

Christiansen and recently appointed Leeds director of football Victor Orta have both stated this week that plans are underway for the team to be significantly revamped in the summer window.
