OPINION

Mark Warburton could return to Rangers to pluck three of Pedro Caixinha’s ousted stars in an attempt to steer Nottingham Forest clear of relegation next season.

The Daily Express reported that six of the Gers senior squad had been left out of Caixinha’s side to face Progres Niederkorn in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

All six were signed by the former Rangers manager but the squad has taken on a whole new look following Caixinha’s eight new recruits this summer.

Deals for Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos has pushed a whole host of last season’s first-team stars down the pecking order.

Now, This Is Futbol believes three of Rangers’ six ostracised players should be signed by Warburton for a second time at the City Ground as Forest look to push themselves up the Championship table.
