Rangers would close the gap with Old Firm rivals Celtic if they signed one of the Hoops’ former strikers Cillian Sheridan this summer.

Sheridan came through the academy set-up at Lennoxtown before leaving the club permanently in 2010 to join Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia, but has since failed to find a permanent home and has become somewhat of a journeyman.

The 28-year-old has since had spells with Scottish Premiership duo St. Johnstone and Kilmarnock, and now plies his trade for Polish top-tier sideĀ Jagiellonia Bialystok after leaving Cypriot outfit Omonia Nikosia in February.

Sheridan scored nine goals and laid on another eight assists during his 27 appearances during the first half of the season in Cyprus, before continuing his fine form in Poland with eight strikes in 14 games.

This Is FutbolĀ analyses three reasons why Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers should sign the ex-Celtic striker to fire them towards the summit of the Scottish Premiership.
