Ofosu-Ayeh deligted to have joined Wolves

Wolves’ new signing Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has revealed to the supporters that he will bring a physical style of play to the club.

The Championship side confirmed on their official website on Tuesday afternoon that the 25-year-old will officially join the club on July 1 when his contract with German side Eintracht Braunschweig expires.

The news was also shared on their official Twitter page.

He has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal and he becomes manager Nuno Santo’s third summer signing of the transfer window so far.

Right-back Ofosu-Ayeh will be playing outside of Germany for the first time in his career and he makes a switch from Germany’s second division to England’s second tier.

Ofosu-Ayeh admitted that he has always admired English football from afar and that he will enjoy the physical natures he will come up against next term.

Ofosu-Ayeh told the club’s official website: “I know some guys who played in the Championship but it’s difficult to compare how they adapted unless you’ve actually played in this league – we will just have to wait and see, I don’t want to talk too much, I’d prefer to show my performances on the pitch.

“I’ve always been a fan of English football – I like the physical game, I think it’s more physical than in Germany and I like that because I’m a physical player.

“I’m curious to find out how the league is now. I think the league will suit my style of play and I hope I can show everyone that.”

There are a number of big-name clubs that will be looking to earn promotion from the Championship next season and Wolves will be hoping to part of that pack.

Newcastle won the Championship title during the recently concluded campaign, with Chris Hughton’s Brighton claiming second spot and Yorkshire outfit Huddersfield earning promotion via the play-offs.

Wolves have not tasted Premier League football since their relegation to the Championship during the 2011/12 season. Since then, they have also dropped down to League One.
