Rangers striker Kenny Miller has voiced his concerns over the fact that a number of the club’s latest recruits do not speak English.

Manager Pedro Caixinha has brought in no less than eight new signings, and insists that his work is not finished in this summer’s transfer window.

The Portuguese boss has brought in Bruno Alves, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelo, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera in from overseas, with former Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack the club’s only domestic capture.

The former four names all have international caps at youth level for Portugugal, Morelos is a Columbian U20 international and Pena and Herrera are both full Mexican internationals.

Striker Miller says that although the new signings have all made a positive impact at Ibrox, there is somewhat of a language barrier at the club, and insists it is something which must be improved for the good of the side.

Speaking ahead of Rangers’ clash with Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League qualifying stage, he told the Daily Record: “The new lads have been settling in fine. The only small issue we have got is the language.

“When you’re in the heat of the battle you end up screaming things and people will be looking at you and thinking, ‘What’s this guy saying?’

“You do need to be able to communicate with your team-mate next to you and that is something that will probably have to get better as the season goes on.

“Right now we’ll just be looking to get wee words or phrases, football terminology, passed on that can help the new lads.”

At 37-years-old Miller is the most experienced head among the playing staff at the club, and is just nine years younger than manager Caixinha.

He made his professional debut in November 1997, just a year after new signings Morelos and Dalcio were born, and has gone on to make 240 appearances for Rangers over three spells at Ibrox, with the striker just a brace away from scoring a century of goals for the club.
