Rangers have finally completed the signing of Guadalajara ace Carlos Pena, it has been confirmed.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal, but no transfer fee is mentioned by the Gers.

The Glasgow giants announced Pena’s arrival on their official website and on their official Twitter account on Thursday night.

The Mexican international becomes Gers manager Pedro Caixinha’s seventh signing of the summer, as Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos have all already completed moves.

The Ibrox boss is well acquainted with Pena from his time as manager of Mexican outfit Santos Laguna from 2013 to 2015.

This comes after Pena’s agent Salvador Necochea claimed at the start of the month that the deal was close to completion and that work permit issues were the only thing holding it back.

Pena is known as ‘Gullit’ in his homeland because of his resemblance to Dutch legend Ruud Gullit.

The 27-year-old spent the latter half of the 2016/17 campaign on loan at Leon, where he made eight appearances.

Prior to being loaned out, the Mexican attacking midfielder played 15 league and cup games for his parent side, Guadalajara in the first half of the season.

He has been capped on 19 occasions by Mexico, and he represented his nation at the 2014 World Cup.
