Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso will arrive in Glasgow on Sunday evening and are set to become Rangers’ latest signings, according to a Daily Record report.
The newspaper, quoting sister paper the Sunday Mail, claims the Portuguese duo will undergo medicals at Auchenhowie on Monday, after a £1.3million fee has been agreed with Vitoria de Setubal for Cardoso, while Dalcio is set to join the Ibrox club on a season-long loan from Benfica.
This comes after the Scottish Sun stated the Gers were “desperate” to bring in Dalcio, who plied his trade in Benfica’s B team this season.
Meanwhile, Vitoria manager Jose Couceiro claimed he was powerless to hold onto Cardoso if the Glasgow giants did make a move for him.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is looking to overhaul his squad this summer, and has already completed the signing of Bruno Alves from Cagliari and Ryan Jack on a free from Aberdeen.
Cardoso, 23, was a mainstay in the heart of Vitoria’s defence this term, making 27 appearances in all competitions, helping the side to a 12th-place finish in the Primeira Liga.
The four-time Portugal Under-20 international joined the club last summer on a free transfer after leaving Benfica B after failing to break into the first team.
Dalcio on the other hand still plies his trade with the Portuguese giant’s B team, and he made 33 league appearances for the club.
The 21-year-old central midfielder has been capped by Portugal Under-20s on six occasions.
