Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has been in touch with Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans to say he will do everything he can to bring the 30-year-old to Ibrox, according to the Daily Record.

The Glasgow side have already had a bid of approximately £700,000 turned down for Dorrans and are readying to make an improved bid of £1.2million to secure his signing, according the the Scottish Sun.

In order to reassure the 12-time-capped Scotland International that the move will go ahead, Portuguese boss Caixinha has been in regular contact during the summer break, asserting that the midfielder will be a key part of the squad if the move goes ahead.

Dorrans played his part in an average season for Norwich following their relegation at the end of the 2015/16 season, making 23 appearances and scoring six goals on the way to an eighth placed finish.

Rangers meanwhile are looking to improve on last season’s third place finish, which saw them end the season 39 points behind league leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Caixinha has had a busy start to his first transfer window in charge of the club, bringing in seven names to the club, including winger Daniel Candeias who was confirmed to have joined on Sunday.

Of the seven, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos are waiting on work permits before their moves are finalised.
