Coleraine striker Eoin Bradley admits that the new Rangers signings Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio impressed during the pre-season match played behind closed doors on Monday.

The SPL side faced the Northern Irish outfit at Murray Park and new boys Ryan Jack, Cardoso and Dalcio all featured in the friendly match.

Pedro Caixinha’s side thrashed Coleraine 5-0 with Martyn Waghorn, Ryan Hardie and Joe Dodoo getting on the scoresheet. Coleraine defender Gareth McConaghie scored an own goal to wrap up the victory.

Fellow newcomer Bruno Alves was unavailable for the pre-season match as he is currently away on international duty with the Portugal national team preparing for the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

Speaking with the Daily Record after the match, Bradley revealed that the new players settled into the team very quickly and feels that they will only improve with more matches under their belt.

He particularly highlighted the contributions of the new Portugese pair.

“Cardoso and Dalcio were playing with their new team-mates for the first time and they will definitely improve,” he said.

“They both looked very comfortable on the ball and have decent technique.

“I was impressed enough with the Portuguese boys and they both look as if they will be good signings and do a real job for Rangers.

“I think Cardoso in particular will benefit greatly from having the vastly experienced Bruno Alves alongside him in central defence.

“Cardoso is only 23 but you can see that there is a real tidy player in there. Dalcio flitted in and out of proceedings but he has a really nice touch and looked handy enough.”

Rangers are set to return to competitive football at the end of the month as they look to reach the Europa League group stages for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.

The men from Ibrox will need to get through four rounds of qualifying matches in order to progress to the Europa League group stage draw which takes place at the end of August.
