Brown needs a partner
Captain Scott Brown has excelled in the middle of the park during Celtic’s treble-winning season, sitting at the base of the midfield and dictating the tempo of the Hoops play.
However, the Scotland international is yet to find a permanent partner, as Callum McGregor, Kouassi Eboue and Nir Bitton have all had their turn at becoming Brown’s first-choice midfield companion.
Hughes would end that selection dilemma, as he compliments Brown’s weaknesses. Offering pace and tenacity as well as plenty of stamina, Brown would be able to continue to dictate proceedings and allow Hughes to run the show slightly ahead of him.
