West Ham have been knocked from the bookies top spot to sign Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

Earlier in the month Sky Bet priced Slaven Bilic’s side at just 1/2 to secure the City star before the end of the transfer window, but now the Hammers sit at 7/1 behind front runners Leicester and Crystal Palace.

According to Sky Bet Leicester City are now firm favourites to pen a deal with the 20-year-old striker and are priced at 4/7, while Palace sit at 5/2.

The Nigerian looked set to join the Hammers over the summer and has been strongly linked strongly with the club, but after City boss Pep Guardiola demanded a buy back option for the young forward the potential deal seemed to grind to a halt.

The Telegraph reported that the Nigeria international is valued at around £25 million and the buy back clause would add an additional fee of £10 million.

Iheanacho is set to be up for grabs as Guardiola makes dramatic changes to his squad this summer.

The goalscorer is in the early stages of his career and would provide a long-term solution for any club that bought him.

City’s young starlet made the move to the Manchester Blues in 2015 and displayed promising potential throughout his first season, but Iheanacho slipped down in the rankings the following season after the arrival of fellow 20-year-old, Gabriel Jesus, in January.
