Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy is a possible signing for West Ham this summer, according to club insider ExWHUEmployee.

The 30-year-old shot stopper and former England international will be available to sign for any club on a free transfer this summer, having been released at the end of his contract with the Canaries.

ExWHUEmployee, who has established themselves as a reputable and reliable source of information on the Hammers, claims in his column for website The West Ham Way that the Hammers could turn to the 30-year-old as a third choice keeper, behind Spanish stopper Adrian and Republic of Ireland international Darren Randolph.

The news will come as a surprise to most fans, with England and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It was claimed by the Telegraph that the 71-time-capped international was keen on the move, but Ruddy’s arrival could see the Hammers end their pursuit.

Ruddy joined Norwich from Everton in the summer of 2010, and has gone on to appear 242 times across all competitions for the Norfolk based side.

Last season saw him battle it out with 32-year-old shot stopper Michael McGovern for a place in the starting XI, with Ruddy making 27 appearances in the Championship, keeping nine clean sheets and conceding 35 goals.
