Slaven Bilic must offer West Ham attacker Diafra Sakho a new contract at the London Stadium despite a hugely frustrating season that was blighted with injury.

The six-time Senegal international suffered from multiple back problems throughout the 2016-17 season which eventually saw him undergo an operation after Christmas.

It limited 27-year-old Sakho fto just four senior appearances for the Hammers last season, scoring once in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Former Besiktas manager Bilic must now weigh up whether offering the former Metz strikera new contract is worth it in the long run for the Hammers, with only 12 months remaining on Sakho’s current deal.

This Is FutbolĀ analyses three reasons why Sakho should be given at least another year at the London Stadium on top of his remaining 12 months in order to prove the doubters wrong and fire West Ham to a top eight finish.
