Leeds would give themselves every chance of returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2004 by signing RedBull Leipzig youngster Oliver Burke this summer.

Burke, 20, made just five Bundesliga starts for Leipzig last season after being signed for £13million from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest towards the end of the 2016 summer transfer window.

Making 25 appearances in total for Leipzig, Burke has managed to find the back of the net once against Koln in a 1-1 draw, as well as laying on two assists for the ambitious side.

However, five-time Scotland international Burke will be fully aware that to turn his huge potential into proven quality he will need regular first-team football and a move back to the United Kingdom could prove key.

This Is Futbol considers three reasons why Burke should become Thomas Christiansen’s second signing as Leeds manager in order to push his new side towards the top of the Championship table and gain promotion.
