During the summer of 2015, Fabian Delph made a £9million switch from Aston Villa to Manchester City.

The 27-year-old, who was in and around the England squad at that time, was looking to enhance his career after a number of successful individual displays in a Villa shirt.

Fast forward to today and Delph has only made 40 appearances for the Manchester club added with the fact that he is now out of the England reckoning.

Poor form and injuries have played their part in the Yorkshire-born midfielder failing to produce the goods at the Etihad Stadium.

Delph needs a fresh start, a consistent run in the team and he could do that at West Ham if they were to make the bold move in signing him this summer.

Slaven Bilic’s team suffered a number of heavy defeats, particularly at home, during the most recently concluded Premier League campaign.

Throughout the season they lacked fight, leadership and character from all areas of the pitch which resulted in them flirting with relegation for a brief period.

The up and coming summer transfer window will be key for the London club because a number of good signings would help West Ham get back on track for the forthcoming campaign.

In order to produce the goods for next season and add that extra bite in the middle of the park, Bilic should look to sign Delph in the summer.
