Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino should seriously consider signing Valencia attacking midfielder Nani in the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old Portugal international still has so much to offer and he could provide that extra bit of quality that Spurs need in order to clinch their first ever Premier League crown.

Nani was hit with a few injuries this season which prevented him from having the desired impact at the Mestalla as Valencia finished in the bottom half of the La Liga table.

He made a total of 25 La Liga appearances and scored five goals.

The Portuguese winger is used to playing at the highest level and his presence could help Spurs progress in the Champions League next season with his experience in the competition, having won the trophy in 2008 with Manchester United.

Nani has improved with age as he has learnt when to bring out his box of tricks and when to deliver the ball at the correct moment.

Often overshadowed by main man Cristiano Ronaldo, it is important to point out that Nani was essential in helping Portugal secure the European Championship in France last year, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

The winger has shown that he can produce the goods in England’s top flight as he enjoyed great success during his eight-year spell at Old Trafford, winning four Premier League titles.

Mauricio Pochettino has a very young squad at his disposal and they could only benefit from having a player with Nani’s experience working and training with them on a daily basis.

Tottenham fans might not see it to be the most inspiring signing but it would certainly turn some heads in Europe and demonstrate that Spurs are looking to compete on all fronts next season.
