Tottenham have offered 20-year-old Nice winger Vincent Marcel a five-year deal to join the club ahead of a proposed transfer, according to FootMercato.

The French football news website have previously reported that the youngster has been pursued by a top five Premier League club, and have revealed Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the ones leading the way for his signature.

The news comes just two days after the Sun reported that Marcel caught the North London side’s eye during a scouting mission for fellow target Ricardo Pereira.

A fringe player for Nice last season, Marcel made just 10 appearances in all competitions for the French side, and is reportedly viewed as a future prospect by Spurs, hence the offering of the five-year contract.

Known for his electric pace down the wing, the 20-year-old has also made two appearances for the French U20 side, with his debut coming back at the end of August 2016.

Were he to join the Lilywhites, he would face a fight with Erik Lamela, Heung-Min Son, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Moussa Sissoko for a starting role on the flanks.

However, both Lamela and Son could potentially miss the start of the season through injury, and with Sissoko and N’Koudou firmly out of favour under Pochettino, Marcel might find himself in the starting XI come their Premier League opener against Newcastle in August.
